Characteristics And Application Range Of Micro Silica Fume
I. Micro silica fume
Microsilica fume is amorphous, powdered silicon dioxide (SiO2) collected by a specially designed dust collector after oxidation of silicon vapor discharged from the flue during smelting of ferrosilicon alloy or industrial silicon. The average particle size of micro silica fume is 0.15~0.20 m, the specific surface area is 15,000 ~20000m2/kg, and the surface activity is very strong.
II. Product features
2.1 Micro silica fume has been used to improve refractory materials for more than 40 years. The use of micro silica fume in refractory materials has the following characteristics:
(1) Improve the flow of pouring refractory, reduce water consumption, make it easy to shape, greatly improve production efficiency;
(2) Due to the intercalation effect of its ultrastructure, the compactness and strength of refractories are greatly improved;
(3) Micro silica fume has high activity, under the premise of the presence of Al2O3 component, it is easier to generate Mullite phase, so that the high temperature strength and thermal shock of refractory material can be significantly improved.
At present, in addition to being widely used in pouring refractory, it is also being widely used in electric melting and sintering refractory.
2.2 Micro silica fume is used in concrete, with the following unique advantages:
(1) Manufacture high-grade concrete (above C70) to significantly improve the strength and pumping performance of concrete;
(2) Manufacture high-impermeability (≥P30), structural self-waterproof concrete, used in the basement of subway, tunnel and high-rise buildings;
(3) To manufacture Marine and chemical concrete, due to its high density performance, effectively prevent the penetration and erosion of concrete by sulfate and chloride ion, avoid the corrosion of concrete reinforcement, and thus extend the life of concrete;
(4) In water conservancy and bridge engineering projects, concrete not only needs the above basic indicators, but also has very strict requirements on its wear resistance and erosion resistance, and it becomes necessary to add SICON micro silica fume;
(5) Early-strength and high-strength concrete required for rapid construction;
(6) High-strength shotcrete used for support in the construction of tunnels, subways and large foundation pits;
(7) Concrete for underwater construction projects (such as bridge piers, DAMS, drilling platforms, etc.);
